What we stand for at VIF Little League
Baseball is about more than hitting and throwing. It's about building character, learning teamwork, and having fun together. Here are the values that guide everything we do.
Learning and improving matters more than winning. We celebrate progress, not just results.
No one sits on the bench. Everyone plays, everyone contributes, everyone matters to the team.
We respect opponents, umpires, and teammates. Win with humility, lose with dignity.
Baseball should be fun! Laughter and joy are just as important as practice and technique.
We're more than a team - we're a family. Players, parents, and coaches together.
For the game, for each other, for the equipment, for the field. Respect builds character.
Parents play an important role in their kids' experience. Here's what we ask:
Cheer for effort and attitude, not just results. “Nice try!” goes a long way.
The umpires are doing their best. Avoid arguing calls - the kids watch and learn.
Give messages and instructions to the coaches, not directly to the kids during a game.
Praise all the players, not just your own child. We're one team!
As part of Vålerenga Idrettsforening, we carry a proud tradition with us. We represent the club, the neighborhood, and the values that have made VIF a gathering point for over 100 years.
